ANd as Scout sez, bump those brushpiles. One trick we use is one person is designated shooter and goes past the pile by a safe margin, then the 'dog' goes to the pile and starts kicking it. If the rabbits chase out the far side, the shooter gets them, those that race past the 'dog' are his target- cuz he's shooting away from the other.
Another place I like is the swampy, brushy areas. They'll start comng out in early evening and hit the food plots.
Also, check the clumps of brush located in fields. You'd be amazed how many rabbits can hide under a pine needle.
ShyShy Wolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12708293970831678927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5253092591191655294.post-7101280597883273032009-02-03T13:16:00.000-05:002009-02-03T13:16:00.000-05:0020 Gauge Shotgun with High Brass Winchester 6 Shot...20 Gauge Shotgun with High Brass Winchester 6 Shot, Kick brush piles on cold days look for them sun bathing on the south sides........ P...Yup, it's all goin' down one way or the other... Precisely because of the hodge podge approach by nanny.gov. I say let the free market reign myself. I also say the fedgov needs to get out of business and let the states decide what they want to do themselves. That was the Founders' original plan. Let the Republik of Kalifornia become a socialist state (as it has), then witness the failure and the flight of the people and businesses who are voting with their feet....

Likewise, those who wish to subject themselves to such nonsense are free to move there and dig in.

There will never be an end to the bickering, divisions, and strife until America is allowed to function as she was intended. There is no "one size fits all" approach, especially in a country so diverse. Ironically, fragmentation appears to be the best solution, not "unity at all cost". The fedgov needs to fade into the background, and resume it's historically intended role of providing for the common defense of the various states. Period. We're trading a known quantity for one we can be reasonably certain is going to be worse, I'm afraid. So, in my book, though he did a lot I didn't like, GW wasn't that bad. He did keep the terrorists away with his policies, though some didn't help Americans any. He knew there is no discussion with someone whose stated goal is to kill you, you have to act.
Too, he shouldn't have gone along with appeasing the libs as he did with many of his policies, for which I do not hold him in any regard.
ShyShy Wolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12708293970831678927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5253092591191655294.post-45567897918312295482009-01-15T08:52:00.000-05:002009-01-15T08:52:00.000-05:00Yeah, I do know that. I went back and read this post and thought much the same thing.

The problem with your capitalized "ultimatum" is that I am stuck in the house I'm in right now. Values have fallen such that I'd lose money if I sold it and my finances are such that I simply cannot afford that right now.

Believe me, this is something to which I've given a great deal of thought. Ideally I'd like to move out to the country, get a house with a little land (or build one!), green that house to make it off-grid or much less grid dependent, grow my own food, and so on.

So while I notionally agree with the whole "your chains are your own creation" bit, you must realize that it is not ABSOLUTELY true. There are events and conditions that originate externally.

I am honestly trapped in the house I'm in right now. I couldn't sell it and even break even (I would if I could). Rental properties in my town are overabundant. Rents are too low for me to rent the place and then be able to afford another.

I didn't cause the housing market to collapse. I bought a house that is within my means (and thus I am always current on my mortgage) that I am now stuck in.

This is fairly central in my envisioned change. We do as much as we can where we are: we compost, garden on our porch, we've greened the place quite a bit, and so on.

If it makes you feel any better Abraham, I do have a plan. There are just certain hurdles (real hurdles, not imaginary chains) which stand in the way. Primarily the house issue from above. These hurdles prevent me from being able to execute this plan in a responsible manner. With as many mouths to feed as I have, responsibility is my life long watch word, it seems.WizardSleevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12346168159701149414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5253092591191655294.post-6833256308079479942009-01-15T08:14:00.000-05:002009-01-15T08:14:00.000-05:00Hey man,Society doesn't have to collapse for you t...Hey man,

Society doesn't have to collapse for you to gain control of your own life. Change it.

Who is preventing you from making changes in your own life? Blah, blah, blah. Your chains are your own creation.

Just buck up and do it. Set priorities, develop a plan and work it.

If you're waiting for some external event to happen so you can change your life you're waiting in vain.

Not to be mean or disrespectful, but come on and straighten up. You only live once are you gonna flitter and pilfer it away or you gonna do something about!?!?

NOW (CAPS ON SO I'M YELLING) I WANT TO SEE A POST BY YOU WITHIN THE NEXT 30 DAYS OF HOW YOU ARE DEVELOPING A PLAN TO "REDEFINE" YOUR LIFE.
